Abstract The C oilfield is located in the Bohai Bay Basin, a typical strong bottom water reservoir. Oilfield reservoir and oil–water distribution are complex. At present, has entered high cut development stage, it challenging to stabilize oil control water. with an imperfect well pattern dominant ridge channels, uneven interface uplift, limited drive sweep range, low inter-well production degree. layer between horizontal section of top cannot be effectively developed, remaining enriched. Therefore, urgent explore new energy supplement methods improve vertical oilfield. In this study, displacement medium optimized through indoor experimental simulation. From results, sand bodies can used heavy reservoirs, residual wells significantly utilized alternate gas foam, recovery degree increased by 12.44%. at upper increase injecting foam alternately final 6.00%.
